About Me!

Abby Bloomquist is an inter-disciplinary theatre artist based in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Communications. During her college years, Abby worked as Assistant Director for Hamilton High School in Sussex, WI. Currently, she serves as the Community Enrichment Director with Kids From Wisconsin, bringing music and dance programming into Milwaukee schools and organizations. Abby has worked with First Stage Theater Academy, Sunset Playhouse, Lake Country Players, and Character Kids, Brookfield Elementary Players and Wisconsin Lutheran High School and College. She recently received Outstanding Direction and Critics Choice for 100 Things I Never Said To You at WISDAA State Theatre Competition. Abby values collaboration, ensemble building, and the collective goal of uplifting the stories that need to be heard through artistic mediums. Through listening, asking questions, and working to understand other perspectives, she aims to be a life-long learner, pushing creative boundaries.

In addition to directing and choreography, Abby enjoys acting at the community theatre level. She finds value in being in the work to become a better director and collaborator. Abby has written short plays for 10 Minute Play Festivals as well as 24 Hour Plays including The Thimbillionaire, Broken Mirror on the Wall, and Best Person to Me Always.

In her free time, Abby enjoys traveling abroad, reading romance novels, relaxing at the beach, and snuggling her dog, Cali.
